WHAT ARE BCAAS?
Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) are a group of three essential amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. They are called “branch chain” because of their unique chemical structure, which includes a side chain that branches off to one side. These amino acids cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained from dietary sources or supplements.
What Are some benefits of BCAA's?
✅ MUSCLE GROWTH AND REPAIR
Leucine, one of the BCAAs, is believed to stimulate muscle protein synthesis, which can help with muscle growth and repair after exercise or injury.
✅ INCREASED ENDURANCE
BCAAs may help reduce the production of serotonin in the brain during exercise, which can lead to less fatigue and increased endurance during long workouts.
✅ DECREASED MUSCLE SORENESS
BCAAs may also help reduce muscle soreness after exercise, potentially by decreasing muscle damage and inflammation.
✅ IMPROVED MENTAL FOCUS
BCAAs may improve mental focus during exercise by reducing the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which can cause fatigue and mental exhaustion.
✅ DECREASED MUSCLE WASTING
BCAAs may also help prevent muscle wasting during periods of calorie restriction, such as during weight loss or in the elderly.
